The set of eight spoons are Norwegian by David Anderson and date from the 1920’s – its rare to get eight spoons in a set

The set of forks are Swedish sterling silver

The other three sets are English hall marked silver.

The Blue corinthian set of spoons are by Thomas Bradbury and date from 1928

The multi coloured set of tea spoons date from 1934 and are by Barker Ellis

The  spoons with the enamel flowered bowls are more recent.  These date from 1972 and are by SJ Rose and Son

Great gifts and great fun to use.

The bowl of the dish is softly hammered – a finish that can only be done by hand

The green handles are bakelite

Fine weight and condition

Champagne is the name of the design and the designer was  Orla Vagn Mogensen.   He was a furniture desgner and a silversmith in Denmark from 1949–75.  Mogensen was also a top designer for Georg Jensen and produced some of the finest Danish silver and this set marked for 1960 is an excellent example.  

There are 12 place settings of seven pieces  – two large knives ; two sizes of spoons; two sizes of forks and a tea spoon

There are eight different serving pieces – salad servers; cold cuts server; bottle opener (from another era) ; a butter knife and salt spoons.

There are also six smaller serving forks and five sauce ladles

The bubbles design going up the handles brings the concept of champagne to life

The style is known as Franconia and is much collected for the fine example of the Art Deco genre

This plate is in fine condition with all the chasing in crisp detail

Perfect for seving food or even drinks

In days of old the whisky could well have been looked after by the household butler

So.. Lockable decanters were very popular.

Perfect for the serious whisky collector – a different favourite malt in each decanter

Made by Hukin & Heath ( who have pieces in the Victoria and Albert Museum ) these are speical because they are still together after more than 100 years

The simplicity of the square shape is perfect for a modern home

The shaped corners and the curved foot are the only decorations

This  heavy salver – weighing more than 1000 grams – is in excellent condition

This tea pot has the clean angled lines and bakelite finial and handle – just discovered in the early 1900’s  and very much “a la mode ” in the 1930’s

A simple elegant lined detail around the shoulder of the pot and the base just add the extra

Note how the shape of the base follows the shape of the body of the pot.

This tea pot would fit a modern home to perfection but is almost 100 years old

A single English silver and square cut crystal whisky decanter with a silver collar but this one is different- look at the lock

This  means no-one can pinch that extra special whisky
